First Year Connections is our way of introducing NJIT to first-year students and their families.
First Year Connections (FYC) is a mandatory, interactive orientation program for new NJIT undergraduate students. During the program, you will meet current NJIT students, faculty and staff to help you understand the skills necessary to be successful at the university - both academic and social. You will be given the opportunity to meet with your advisor to understand the expectations of NJIT and receive guidance on academic planning. You will learn about innovative research and programs, understand First Year Students course scheduling, and obtain advising on majors, minors, and fields of study.
First Year Connections is coordinated by our Office of First Year Students, located in the campus center on the second level. Dr. Sharon Morgan is the associate dean for first-year students.
