Michelle Carter, who won the 2016 gold medal in the women's shotput at the Rio Olympics, was surprised about the attention she received during the Olympics for wearing makeup while competing.
Carter will speak about how she's a girly-girl and wearing makeup is part of what makes her feel good and boosts her self-esteem. Carter is passionate about inspiring younger athletes to feel confident.
Rachael Ray explains that Michelle Carter is working backstage as a "Makeup Mentor" to Carly Berdan, an NJIT student-athlete who doesn't feel confident in her ability to do makeup and wants a professional look she can wear to job interviews.
"I had a awesome experience meeting and talking with Michelle Carter as she did my makeup," Berdan commented. "It was an honor to have worked with an Olympian."
Berdan, who has battled injuries throughout her career at NJIT, returned for her senior season, collecting two goals and two assists in 17 matches. She recorded the game-winning goal in the Highlanders 1-0 win over Jacksonville on October 8 and ranks tied for fourth all-time in career goals (7) and third in career points (17) in the NJIT Division I era, which began in 2006-07.
Tune in Wednesday, November 30 at 10 a.m. on ABC 7 to see Carly's new look!
