NJIT's BA in Interior Design program has two of three regional winners in the 2011 Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC) Student Competition.

The project included one week of demographic and building type research for healthcare facilities and one week during which students had to both program and design the project for a given space. The winning entries were: Highlander Health Center, a proposed expansion of the NJIT medical health facilities submitted by Hyungshin Stephanie Kim, Mina Liba, and Melissa Pereira; and Newark Community Health Center submitted by Peter Khalil, Tristan Pashalian, and Ida Torres. Competition entries will be judged at the IDEC National Conference in Denver on or around March 19.
