Student Architectural Design Selected by NJ Repertory Theater Company

An architectural design by NJIT student Joseph Cestaro of Denville has been selected by The Trilogy Repertory Theater Company of New Jersey for fund-raising and eventual construction. The project is from Assistant Professor Stephen Zdepski’s 2010 Comprehensive Architectural Studio.

The proposed earth-sheltered design is located on the historic and environmentally sensitive 1771 Elias Boudinot Estate. The Basking Ridge property has been owned by the President of the Continental Congress, and Henry Southward, a member of Congress from 1801-1821. His son, Samuel Southard, who was born in the house, was a U.S. Senator, Secretary of the Navy, Governor of New Jersey and acting Vice President under President Tyler.
