This ranking continues a history of steady improvement in NJIT’s value.  Last year NJIT ranked 9th among public universities and 59th overall; in 2011, NJIT was 14th among public schools and 76th overall.

With the expense and time required to attend college, according to PayScale, earning a degree does pay off long-term, but only if students and parents carefully choose the right institution.

PayScale's methodology to produce its ROI package was collected from full-time employees with bachelor’s degree who successfully completed a survey.  No higher degrees, such as law or medicine, were included.
