Watch NJIT President Joel Bloom on One-on-One with Steve Adubato in the special series, “Newark at a Crossroads,” where he will discuss innovation and ways to drive economic development through the collaboration of students and business leaders. The program, which explores current issues in Newark as well as the individuals, companies and organizations making a difference in the lives of Newark’s residents and its economy, will air on Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. on NJTV and later at 12:30 a.m. on WNET.
Alumna Marjorie Perry (MBA ’05), president and CEO of MZM Construction and Management, will appear on another installment in the series, on Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. on NJTV and later at 12:30 a.m. on WNET, to share insights into her deep Newark roots and her positive projections for the Brick City. Tony Howell, executive director of NJIT’s Educational Opportunity Program, will appear on Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. and later at 11:30 p.m. on NJTV to talk about preparing students for NJIT’s rigorous college curriculum. Alumnus Samer Hanini (B.S. ’99 and M.S. ’03), principal of the architecture firm Hanini Group, will appear on Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. on NJTV to discuss buildings the firm has constructed in Newark, as well as building job opportunities for community members in the Brick City.
The series, which runs from Sept. 14 through Sept. 23, was filmed on the NJIT campus in August.
