CWL Kicks Off Partners for Success Program

On Thursday, Oct. 15, the Committee on Women's Leadership (CWL) kicked off the second year of its Partners for Success Program with a luncheon and orientation. The goal of the program is to assist recently hired women to become acclimated to the culture of NJIT and have a designated person as an initial resource and source of encouragement. Women who have been at NJIT for two years or less are termed junior partners, and are matched with senior partners who have five or more years at NJIT. This year's group of 15 pairings was welcomed by Kay Turner, vice president for human resources, keynote speaker for the event.

The Committee on Women's Leadership began in 1992 under former NJIT President Saul Fenster. CWL’s mission is to enhance the visibility and support the success of women at NJIT by facilitating networking opportunities, leadership, professional development and community building. This year it is chaired by Lucie Tchouassi, coordinator/advisor, undergraduate programs in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, and Casey Hennessey, assistant director for employer relations, Career Development Services.
