Center for Resilient Design Hosts Concrete Construction Workshop

Technical experts review construction details in the AIA Room at the College of Architecture and Design during a one-day concrete construction workshop hosted by the Center for Resilient Design.

NJIT’s Center for Resilient Design (CRD) hosted a one-day workshop on how to use concrete to make single-family homes more resilient and sustainable.

Sponsored and convened by the Federal Alliance for Safe Homes (FLASH) and the Portland Cement Association, the event was attended by technical experts from across the country, including: architects, engineers, builders, materials experts and representatives of several resilient technology companies; NJIT faculty and students participated as well.

The workshop was a first step in a long-term project to create the second in a series of “Resilient Design Guides,” which are being developed by FLASH and its partners.

CRD will continue to provide input to the guide as it continues to develop over the next several months.
